Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year (besides Christmas). I'd like to pay tribute to two of my favorite fictional serial killers: Dexter Morgan of Showtime's Dexter and Patrick Bateman, star of American Psycho. They're so similar, but at times seem nothing alike. Here's how they measure up.

Another Hollywood hook-up bites the dust
This is a split I've seen coming for years, much like Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson. Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe are separated.
"We are saddened to announce that Reese and Ryan have decided to formally separate," publicist Nanci Ryder said in a statement issued Monday on behalf of the couple.
"They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time," the brief statement concluded. Ryder said she could not elaborate on the split.
Witherspoon, 30, and Phillippe, 32, have two children, 7-year-old Ava and 3-year-old Deacon. The couple, who co-starred in the 1999 movie "Cruel Intentions," married that year.

Tom Cruise will complete the Stepford process on Nov. 18 when he weds Katie (I refuse to call her Kate) Holmes.
UsWeekly broke the story, natch! Holmes will wear a Giorgio Armani wedding dress, which Cruise likely picked out and tried on first.
We hear in lieu of tables and chairs, the couple will bounce on couches donated by Oprah.
Holmes, 27, and Cruise, 44, became engaged in June 2005 atop Eiffel Tower in Paris. Their daughter, Suri, who I still don't believe is biologically his, was born April 18. I also think his exes Mimi Rogers and Nikki Kidman don't believe it either!
After the ceremony, Cruise and Holmes will lift off in their "just married" UFO and spend their honeymoon on mars.

Britney Spears has lost weight, now only if she could lose K-Fed!
UsWeekly magazine reports that Spears was spotted at Planet Blue on October 9 shopping for new clothes after shedding 25 pounds, allegedly without a trainer, pills or nutritionist.
"She is not treating herself with food and desserts anymore," says a family friend of Spears, who gave birth to her second child, Sutton, on September 12.
According to an employee at the store, Spears gushed that she was "a whole new size--an 8," and needed "all new clothes."
Spears'weight jumped from 120 to 160 during the pregnancy, but she she took off the pounds with diet and exercise.

Can Barbara Streisand get stage fright again and go back to shopping and hanging out with Donna Karan all day? Streisand, who is commanding $102.75-$752-75 for a ticket to one of her shows, is once again embarking on territory celebrities shouldn't trample on. Babs, dah-ling, there's no red carpet in politics. Stick to singing. You have a phenomenal voice and you are a true star--a legend. But there's nothing I despise more than celebrities, who are ENTERTAINERS, using their fame to push politcal agendas. Whether you love the president, or hate the president, is there really a need to lash out on your fans in the middle of a show, after this fan likely mortgaged his house for a chance to watch you sing?

During a New York concert during her comeback tour (She hasn't toured in 12 years) Streisand featured a political satire sketch where an impersonator playing George W. Bush reeled off lines including: "I'm concerned about the national debt, so I'm selling Canada," and: "If I cared about the polls I would have run for president of Poland."
NOTE: If you're going to make fun of the president, write jokes that are at least funny. Hire the writers from the Daily Show. You're rich enough!!! Make it amusing.
After singing some of her famous tunes, in the middle of the 3-hour show, Streisand's Bush skit lasted a little too long for the fans.
Though most of the crowd offered polite applause during the slightly humorous routine, it got a bit too long, especially for a few in the audience who just wanted to hear Streisand sing like she had been doing for the past hour.
"Come on, be polite!" Streisand blasted as she and "Bush" exchanged zingers. But one heckler wouldn't let up. And finally, Streisand let him have it.
"Shut the (insert F-word here) up!" Streisand bellowed, drawing wild applause. "Shut up if you can't take a joke!"
Streisand later apologized for the outburst, but there is no need to insult your fans if they don't agree with you--no matter what the subject is. I'm all about freedom of speech and tolerance of other people's ideas. But if you don't agree with this divasaurus, she curses you out and publicly scolds you for daring to open your mouth. She has no regard for anyone other than herself. And this was another sad tale of how Babs boos when she doesn't get her way.

Adrien Grenier, who plays sexy Vincent Chase on Entourage, was at Social Miami Friday Sept. 29 with 15 friends. Seated at the round table in the middle of Social Miami at Sagamore, he arrived at 10 pm for dinner. At midnight, he hung out in an outside cabana to drink Grey Groose with his posse. He looked hot and was sporting longer hair than usual.
Venus Williams was also there partying with five of her friends.
