Oh baby baby, how was she supposed to know? Britney Spears has dyed her trademark blonde locks jet black.
The 24-year-old pop star turned train wreck was spotted out with her new do in New York. She was walking around holding her adorable baby son Sean Preston, according to TMZ.com. Luckily she didn't drop him this time. Britney critics are insisting that dying your hair during pregnancy can harm the unborn child but there doesn't seem to be any truth to this because hair dyes are much more gentle now than they were in say the 70s.

The site also reported Britney and Kevin had been touring NYC for the last few days so that Kevin could attend his own publicity engagements. (whatever that means).

Baby No. 2 will debut in September.

Last week, the singer revealed to the world that her marriage is "awesome," but then she appeared on TV wearing a ridiculously short skirt and blubbering that she's an "emotional wreck". I'm not sure what Brit's hair is supposed to mean. She's obviously tormented. Ashlee Simpson went through a similar period when she dyed her locks black. I think it's a pathetic attempt at rebellion. I guess when you live a fish bowl that's as punk rock as you're allowed to get. Poor Brit. I normally don't pity celebs, but I'm afraid for her.
