Club Mansion loses a good man...
I was saddened today to learn that one of Mansion's longtime bouncers, John Williams, was stabbed to death outside of the Miami Beach club on Saturday May 13. Williams, who worked at Mansion for a decade, was trying to break up a fight in front of the club when he was stabbed and died on the scene.
At least five people were involved in the incident, which started around 5:26 a.m., Miami Beach police said.
According to spokesman Bobby Hernandez, two other people were transported to area hospitals. One was stabbed in the neck and was listed in critical condition. The other was being treated for a severed finger.
Three males believed to be responsible for Williams' death appeared in bond court today.
25 year-old Glenn Walker, 34 year-old Trevor Grant and 30 year-old Elbin Castro were charged with second degree murder.
''Tragically, he died as a result of his heroic action,'' said Vanessa Menkes of Mansion. ``John stopped to help end a fight. We are deeply devastated by the loss of one of our most beloved longtime associates.''
If you knew John and would like to email me a favorite memory or any kind words regarding him, please feel free. Also keep his mother in your thoughts. It's never easy to lose anyone you love, especially in the early hours of Mother's Day.
